Hi Everyone,
We all have seen ever changing SAP webchannel framework and it has to change to stand with time.
I don't think Hybris is any end to it, there will be something better after it.
SAP has all the reasons to invest heavily on webchannel as an offering since it targets the biggest
market and opens the door to every business around the corner.
It's not the beauty of webchannel that attracts the customers, it's the elegance of CRM most
often what they want. Rather customizing SAP webchannel presentation to meet the business
requirements has always been a pain point for them. B2B with frames proves my point.
Customers are reluctant to take down their existing tried and tested web application and invest big
money on a fresh new solution even though they want the comfort of CRM. Moreover nobody wants
to hear that the solution they relied on is now outdated just in a couple of years or so.
The end result is most of them stay happy with what they already have.
Why don't SAP come up with connectors or plugins that can connect to any existing application irrespective
of whichever technology and framework it is based on i.e. Java, .Net, Springs, Struts, JSF.
That will be easy for customers to accept since they don't have to change much of their existing applications.
Quickly they can visualize the results and that again without big investments in development and customizing.
Wouldn't it be easier for SAP to generalize the connectors and plugins instead of the whole webchannel
framework to suit every business in the market. Share your thoughts.

Arshid
