I think that the user who is monitoring, if the process fails at while he is inside the chain, the email will be sent from his ID. This could be a bug, and I'm not sure if there is a solution, but this happens in our system as well.
You can try to check the User Management for SAP BW Background users and try checking if it helps with anything.
