Also, please check the laod balancing on your system, make sure there are enough work processes assigned to the activations steps, and that there are enough processes available (SM50 - monitor in realtime), the following note will help for troubleshooting even if you have not experienced the SYSTEM_CANCELLED shortdumps, the concept is the same...
2092206 - SYSTEM_CANCELED shortdump in DSO Activation - Background Jobs
=> For multiple jobs running,
1943633 - SYSTEM_CANCELED upon activation of a Data Store Object (DSO) request
=> For single activations.
