I did not understand time 8 concept wheather your are checking in abap program?
What I understood you want to trigger one chain after the meta chain that you can achive using direct include sub chain in meta chain but you do not want to modify meta chain correct?
Please follow following steps once
1)create event
2)modify you sub chain start variant->after event periodic->save and execute sub chain
3)add your event in subsequect process of you last set in meta chain.
4)execute your meta chain when it will sucessfully completed please check wheather your event is triggered it will trigger and your sub chain will start.
it will work because i have tested it for infopackage and one of our scn friend also have similar requirement he also achived ..please try.
