I am very familiar with this particular error. Yes it is most likely lost links. If you change to the connection view and then drill into the events, you should see where the lost link is occurring. I would start there rather than a network trace. Also make sure you are on the latest hot fix for SP 5 and the latest Android client. We have addressed some lost link issues recently in some of these patches and I strongly recommend the latest code.
Another thing you may want to do is look at your bandwidth throttling settings. You may need to engage this feature when sending so much data as the network may be flooded. Just do not set the threshold to 0 as once it bottoms out, it will have a hard time gaining more throughput with that low a floor.
