Final attempt, You can request your ABAPer to debug the case, if this shows the output with Material input it should display during Order intput also.
I tested your scenario, when we receive the message as "no object for this selection" SU53 becomes crazy and gives authorization issue for planning plant and tcode, which is irrelevant.
