thanks for following up with my question... the resolution you have mentioned is my current internet explorer setting and it gives the same error message both in IE and Chrome...
the weird thing was when I made that change... only certain reports were giving that message... the ones worked still have different universe but under same folder structure and security setting is the same as the ones that break.
